Specialist in private international law, substantive and procedural civil law and education law.
Author of approximately 90 various scientific and popular science publications, including commentaries (his own or co-authored) to the Educational Law (scientific editor and co-author, latest 3rd edition Wolters Kluwer 2022), the International Private Law (ed. J. Poczobut, Wolters Kluwer 2017), European Parliament and Council Regulations No. 593/2008 (Rome I) and No. 1215/2012 (ed. K. Osajda, 1st edition C.H.Beck 2019), the Civil Code, (ed. J. Gudowski, Wolters Kluwer 2021), and the Agreement between the Republic of Poland and Ukraine on Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil and Criminal Matters (scientific editor and main co-author, ed. 1 Wolters Kluwer 2022). He is also the author of published scientific monographs (doctoral and post-doctoral dissertations – awarded in the competitions “State and Law” in 2006 and 2016, respectively: 2nd and 1st prize), problem articles, reviews of jurisprudence of national and international courts and glosses.
He completed his law studies in 1999 at the University of Warsaw. He served his judicial training at the District Court in Warsaw and passed the judge’s exam. In 2005, he completed doctoral studies at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw. From 2005 to 2008, he was an assistant judge in the Civil Chamber of the Supreme Court; from 2008 to 2018, he was a member of the Office of Studies and Analyses of the Supreme Court, head of the Civil Law Department. From 2018 to 2019 he ran an individual law firm. From 2006 an assistant professor, from 2021. – professor at the University of Warsaw.
He speaks English, German and French and is learning Ukrainian.
